Zula M. Franklin was born December 11, 1949 in Somerville, Tn to the late Johnnie B Tyus and Martha C. Williamson. She departed this life peacefully on May 26, 20255.
Zula was educated in the Shelby County School System graduating from Manassas High School and Shelby State Community College. Zula had a passion for kids, “The Little People” aa she affectionately called them. She opened Tender Loving Care & Learning Family Day Home in the 1980s, continuing to love, nurture, and educate “The Little People” until her retirement in 2010.
Ms. Franklin was raised up in a christian home, dedicating her life to Christ at a young age. For the past 20 years Zula was an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clenton Patterson. She loved to help out with the children in the church, hear Amber sing in the choir, and watch live church streams when at home.
Family meant the world to Zula, especially her daughter Lois Ann. She had an unbreakable bond with her sister Carolyn
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Daisy Taylor and Ruby Williamson; brother John Williamson; and niece Mia Briggs.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; daughter Delores Williamson; sister Carolyn (Troy) Merritt; brothers Anthony Williamson and Johnnie L. Tyus; godson Kristien Thomas; longtime friends Eva Maclin, Bythella Stackhouse, and Pamela Hear, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends
