Obituary for George Keith Williamson
George Keith Williamson. 55, died December 1, 2019.
George Keith Williamson, Sr. fondly called Keith, was the youngest child born to the late Reverend Ernest W. and Mrs. Ruby Williamson. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 6, 1964. At the early age of 11 years, he accepted Christ as his personal savior under the pastorate of his Dad. He joined the church choir and served as the percussionist. In 1969, the Williamson family moved to Chicago, Illinois. It was there that Keith began his elementary education at the Lower School of the Latin School of Chicago. He completed his middle and high school years at Francis Parker Academy, also a private school in Chicago. Keith attended Christian Brothers College. Later, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
George Keith enjoyed family gatherings where assumed the role of “grill master”. He never missed an opportunity to go fishing with his dad and any family member willing to go. The extended Williamson family reunions convened each year in Pleasant Grove, Mississippi. At these family gatherings, Keith was full of joy. He loved being with his cousins with whom he played as a free spirit and rode horses.
He developed his business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit by leading information technology startup companies. For over twenty years, Keith’s impact in the local information technology software integration community helped small and large businesses.
On Sunday, December 1, 2019 a tragic automobile accident ended his life. He is earthly presence is gone much too soon. Left to cherish memories of him are his four children: George Keith Williamson, Jr., Kevin Keskem Williamson; Montierre “Monty” Jackson (Whitney); Shelby Nicole Williamson; and a grandson, Jaxson Keith Williamson. Also, his sister, Gwendolyn Williamson Sellers and brother, Ernest W. Williamson, Jr. (Yolanda), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
