Obituary for Floyd D. "L.G." Williams
Floyd D. Williams, affectionately known as "L. G.", was born on May 23, 1949 and called to peaceful rest on August 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Williams Jackson, father Lenton Yarbrough Sr., father Alonzo Jackson, brother Curley Jackson, and sister Burnette Rogers.
Under the care of his maternal grandmother, he professed a hope in Christ at an early age. After graduating from Carver High School in Memphis, TN, he joined the U. S. Army to be with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC.
Floyd leaves to mourn his passing: two dearly loved children; daughter Monica Garvin (Terrence) and son Floyd Parrish (Timika); five grandchildren: E'Lexus, Terrence Jr., Justin, Jaylin, and Jamiyah; three siblings: one sister, Jeanette Smith (Victor), brothers: Rickey Jackson and Alonzo Jackson, Jr., and brothers/sisters on his father's side. Other dearly beloved ones are: aunts, Fannie Burton and Annette Douglas (Russell); beloved nephew: Warez Jackson, beloved nieces: LaTonya, Shelbie, and Shanika; great nieces: Symora and Antyria; and great nephew, Keelan. A host of cousins, other relatives, and close friends.
