Irma L. Phillips, 71, died August 26, 2016.
Irma Phillips was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Millie Scott and Hershel Lee Phillips.
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Castalia Baptist Church
in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a proud graduate of Melrose High School where she developed her love of books and writing. She was a culinary chef in her own right and worked alongside her siblings in the family catering business. She loved to serve and selflessly cared for others. While living in California she worked in the health care field. In her later years she was a dedicated crossing guard for Memphis City Schools.
Cherishing her memory and celebrating her home going are sisters Earline Phillips-Landers, Mary Knox (Issac), Charlotte Seldon, Cheryl Richmond (Robert), Annie Flo Coleman, Claudette Elmore; brothers, Douglas Pettis, Elgin Scott (Janice), Wesley Scott (Stephanie), Melvin Scott (Bernita); a special Aunt, Lucille Cox and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that loved her.
