Linda Spates, 59, died May 30, 2019.
Linda Spates "SnoBall" was born on December 8, 1959 in Dixon, IL. Linda quietly departed her FULL life on May 30, 2019 in Memphis, TN.
She attended Guilford High School and later received her associates degree in accounting at Rockford Career College. She attended real estate school. In 1998, Linda became the owner of her own apartment building on the lake in Chicago, which is her biggest accomplishment in her life. She lived most of her life in Rockford, IL where she was a member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ.
Two years ago, Linda recently moved to Memphis, TN to be close to her beloved daughter and granddaughter. She was employed at the Arc of the Midsouth. SnoBall was the life of the party, the loudest, and always kept a smile.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Neffertera (Winston) Wooten; granddaughter, Phoenix Eason of Memphis TN; daughter, Rashonda Wintersmith; and her children, Jazzmon Fort, Karl Fort, Jr., Nelson Brown, Jr. and Heavenly Brown of Rockford, IL;two sisters, Charlotte (Erton) Hoskins and Yvonne Allen both of Rockford, IL; special cousin, Larry “King B” King; special friend, Donald “Speedy” Watkins; she also leaves behind great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory and Elizabeth (King) Spates; two sisters, Elois Rouse and Shirley Lindsey; two brothers, Almus Spates and James Spates.
