Obituary for Sanford Echols

Sanford Echols, 70, died November 14, 2021.

Sanford Echols, III was born on February 27, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The eldest son of Sanford and Mary L. Echols who preceded him in death. He attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In 2021, he confessed his spiritual beliefs and verbally accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, asking God to forgive him for the life he lived prior to this year. He was a giver at heart and before his illness, each month he picked up and delivered food to the desolate, hungry, and homeless. Bobby was artistically creative with his hands; as a young adult, he cut both male and female hair. In his latter years, he loved to sew, and created his own ethnic attire. He would often make his own greeting cards and loved to sketch drawings. His love of the African culture was evident based on his attire, home decor, and annual attendance at local African Festivals in Memphis.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Louis Echols, and Clarence (Ruthie Mae) Echols. He leaves to cherish his memory; Three daughters, Shawnnet Vasser, Michelle (Todd) Weston, and Shaka Echols. He also leaves behind two sons, Terrence (Angela)Echols and Prince Echols. Four sisters, Sandra Echols, Beverly Echols, Janice Echols, and Judy Echols. Twelve grandchildren, Terrance (Brasia), Monique, Raymond, De’Von, Martez, Brandon, Faith, Paige, Kenesha, Javon, Jaylon and Jaden. Sixteen great grandchildren, and Loving First Cousins, Gwendolyn, and Curtis Tatum. He leaves many memories and stories behind for cousins, friends, and neighbors.
